Martina Colombo earned her Master degree in Veterinary Biotechnological Sciences from the University of Milan after starting her research career investigating three-dimensional culture systems for oocytes and embryos in collaboration with São Paulo State University (Brazil). She later obtained her Ph.D. in Veterinary and Animal Sciences from the University of Milan, with studies focused on gamete long-term preservation and especially oocyte vitrification, also collaborating with the Leibniz Institute for Zoo and Wildlife Research (Germany). She received a tenure track position from the University of Milan in 2023, where she is continuing to study germplasm cryopreservation and culture and their effects on intracellular mechanisms.
